A large area in the home can be the outside walls. Most homes in our neighborhood do not have cavity walls (space between the inner and outer walls), which means that cavity wall insulation is not possible. In theory, you can insulate a solid wall on the outside, but this is usually not allowed at the front facade in a protected cityscape.
What is a possibility is that you insulate the facade on the inside. This form of insulation results in energy savings of an average of 6m3 of gas per year per square insulated wall.
Wall insulation is especially interesting if you have a blind side wall, but can also be applied to the wall sections next to and below the windows. Wall insulation is certainly wise if you have insulated the windows in the same wall.
With wall insulation, a false wall is placed on the inside of the facade with insulation material behind it, such as:
The insulation must have an R-value of at least 3.5. R stands for 'Resistance', so the higher the R-value, the better the material insulates.
No target price per square meter can be given for wall insulation. The finishing of the false wall requires a lot of customization. The quotation is always tailor-made.
The RVO gives you a subsidy on wall insulation of € 19 per m2. That amount doubles if you take 2 measures.
The gas savings for wall insulation is approximately 6m3 of gas per year per square meter of insulation. With the prices of the energy ceiling, this is a saving of € 9 per m2 of insulated wall.
In this webinar, the insulation specialists explain what wall insulation is, which materials can be used and when it is possible and sensible to insulate the walls on the inside. The subsidy from the RVO is also discussed.
