Neighborhood Action Tile Removal Duinoord 2026 - Tiles out, plants in!
On Saturday, May 9, 2026 (12:00-16:00), it is time again for the 5th edition of Tegelwippen Duinoord! Bring your tiles to the community center (Sweelinckplein 42) and exchange them for free plants. Please register in advance via our website!
By replacing tiles with greenery, we make our neighborhood more beautiful, cooler, and better for bees and butterflies. Plants also help to absorb rainwater during heavy showers.
In recent years, more than 100 local residents have participated. Together, we have replaced thousands of tiles with plants! Will you join in this year too?

Draft heat program published
In the draft heat programme recently released, the municipality shows how the city will transition from fossil fuels to clean energy for heating, cooking, and hot water over the coming years (until 2050). For Duinoord, a heat network appears to be the best solution. A heat network delivers a temperature of around 60-80°C. That is approximately the temperature currently supplied by a central heating boiler.
The heat program only states what the most logical solution is towards 2050. Only later (after 2026) will a neighborhood implementation plan be issued, specifying when work will take place.

The Hague mini-nursery starts
The Hague Mini Nursery was established in January. At this location, residents, businesses, and government bodies can get acquainted with cork sedum and its applications. We promote knowledge sharing by organizing workshops and knowledge sessions. The mini nursery is located at the Energiekas on Helena Street at Doeverenplantsoen 3 in The Hague.
We will start the workshops and knowledge sessions later in the year. Don't want to wait? Then contact us and come take a look already.
